UCC27211A: What differences between UCC27211A and UCC27211

Part Number: UCC27211A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27211,

Now my customer is using SCT's SCT52A40 and it's Package is DFN4X4.

I want to promote the UCC27211 to P2P it.
I want to know the differences between UCC27211A and UCC27211.

And the price of UCC27211 is lower than UCC27211's.  That is why?

Thanks!

  • Hey Chuanfei Pan,

Thank you for your question regarding the UCC27211 series.

When looking on TI.com, both devices are priced the same at $0.663 in the DRMR package which is VSON-8 to match the DFN4X4. These part numbers are UCC27211DRMR and UCC27211ADRMR. So, recommending the UCC27211A is advised over the UCC27211 due to its improved robustness and it is a newer, revised part.

The biggest differences between the two are the improvement in noise immunity on VDD in the UCC27211A as compared to the UCC27211. There are slight differences in a few specifications but they are nominal when it comes to performance in most applications. The differences are shown below:

  • Hi William,

    Thanks for your support!

Is there some differences in their progress? Such as different die design?

    Chambers Pan

  • Hey,

Both the UCC27211 and the UCC27211A are on the same silicon process but there are some differences in the die design to account for the improvements seen, especially in the VDD noise immunity. That design difference is the differentiator between the two that requires a different part number.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thank you,
