LM62460: SYNC/MODE pin connection question.

Part Number: LM62460

Hi,

A quick question concerning LM62460. The SYNC/MODE pin Absolute Maximum Ratings is specified as min -0.3V and max 42V. But no further information in Recommended Operating Conditions.

Here we have a buck design with VIN 24V, we need FPWM mode, thus this pin must be pulled high.

However due to tight layout constrains, this pin is not easy to routed to VCC, and we are wondering can we directly connect SYNC/MODE pin to VIN, which is 24V in our case ?

Thanks for reading, and please answer our question.

Regards,

  • Hello Zt,

Based on the abs max of the device, the continuous DC voltage that can be applied to SYNC/MODE is no more than 36V.

In your case, it should be okay to connect SYNC/MODE directly to VIN which is 24V and still be under the abs max voltage rating.

    Regards,
