CSD87501L: Packaging material question

Hi Team,

I saw the exterior color of CSD87501L is not black. Is it an insulation material? Will it cause a short circuit once its surface touched with shielding case? Thanks.

Hello Kai,

Thanks for the inquiry. The gray color on the top of the package is conductive back metal to improve resistance. It is electrically connected to the common drain of the device which is also the substrate.

Hi Kai,

Yes, the side walls are silicon (no metallization). This is a chip scale device - essentially a silicon die with metallized lands to solder onto the customer's board. The substrate including the sides, is electrically connected to the common drain of the device.
