BQ33100: Dataflash read error

Part Number: BQ33100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQEVSW, EV2400

I'm using BQ33100 in one of our project. We followed schematic design as exact as BQ33100 EVM and now we're using EV2400 to communicate with BQEVSW. The communication is established and I'm able read the SBS page in BQEVSW. But when I switch the tab to Data flash ,got an error saying "error reading dataflash code =6".

The chip is in unsealed mode , system voltage is around 7Volts, (assuming DF update ok voltage is by default 4V) , any of the safety/operation flags are set.

I'm able to read the dataflash in the BQ33100-EVM dev board with the same setup. What could be the issue in reading DFF in fresh BQ33100 chip purchased from TI

  • Hello Athullia,

If you are able to read from the EVM but not your own board I would double check all your communication related connections are good and put a logic analyzer to make sure the commands being sent are clean. Did you confirm if the BQ33100 is powered and the power is stable?

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
