UC1825: TINA-TI: Convergence Problem with the UC1825 Circuitry

Part Number: UC1825
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

I try to simulate a circuit that takes 270VDC input to create 10V and 5V ouputs using a flyback converter topology. My TINA-TI simulation using UC1825 run to Convergence Problem, and I am looking for recommendation to fix it.

Something that I tried:

1. When I removed the problematic component indicating in the Convergence problem, then it ran to the same issue on another component. I can't pin point what components cause the issue.

2. Changed the Analysis Parameter, Shunt Conductance to 1ms. However, the simulation result is completely off. The OUTA/OUTB of the UC1825 is not in expected PWM form but DC signal.

3. Changed the Analysis Parameter, Shunt Conductance to 1p. I ran to the Convergence Issue again.

I hope to take this discussion offline if possible.

  • H2,

Thank you for your inquiry about TINA.  Since TINA is a DesignSoft/TINA program, questions are handled by using the DesignSoft support pageThe DesignSoft/TINA team is very helpful and this is the most direct way for TINA support.

In the meantime, I downloaded and ran the TINA transient sim from the UC1825 product folder and it ran without any errors. Could you start with this known working model and slowly progress to your model to determine what might have been introduced that is causing the convergence problem.
