LM4041-N-Q1: LM4041QEEM3-1.2/NO Not getting 1.2v fixed output

Part Number: LM4041-N-Q1

I am using LM4041QEEM3-1.2/NO regulator to get 1.2 volt output. But when checked it with no load condition it's giving me 1.4 Volt output an with 15 mA load it is giving me 0.8 Volt output. My Rs value is 47 ohm. Please suggest me how to get 1.2 fixed voltage.

Hello,

With a 47 ohm resistor, the device will sink 44mA at no load which can damage the device. The max recommended current with no load is 12mA. Please increase the Rs resistor to a minimum value of 173 ohms for no load. The minimum current is 45uA. Rs should be sized so that Iload + Imin <=12mA

Thanks for feedback.

But as per my observation Why does the output voltage of the LM4041QEEM3-1.2/NO, which is supposed to be a fixed output type, vary according to the resistor value, while when we tested the LM4041AIM3-1.2/NOPB, it consistently provided 1.2 volts across any resistor (Rs)?

Hello,

The output voltage should not change with the resistor value as long as the part receives the minimum amount of current but does not exceed the maximum cathode current specified in the datasheet. The LM4041QEEM3-1.2/NO may have been damaged by excessive current.
