BQ25302: Question about BQ25302 behavior.

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using BQ25302 for their new products.

At this moment, they have the following question.
Could you please give me your reply?

Q.
When BQ25302 which set to ICHG=2A is connected to 5V/1A adapter, does BQ25302 reduce charging current to less than 1A to avoid 5V input voltage going down?
Or BQ25302 is reset by UVLO and charging is stopped because Vin goes down to UVLO detection voltage?

Hi Kazuya,

The operation should trigger VINDPM first (the higher of VINDPM_MIN and (1.044*VBAT + 125mV)) since the VINDPM setting is higher than VBUS_UVLO. Please refer to 8.3.4.1.2 Input Voltage Dynamic Power Management (VINDPM) on the ds for the details.

Is this VINDPM function applied when the device is in both of CC charging mode and CV charging mode?

Q. Is VINDPM function implemented for any standard regulation of battery organization etc?
Or is it TI original technology?

Kazuya,

DPM works in both CC and CV mode.

DPM is not based on any organization standard. It is a popular function for chargers.
