UCC21530-Q1: iso voltage

Part Number: UCC21530-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21530

hi

TI  friends   about UCC21530-Q1 the folowing questions pls help

1.my customer wanted to know  the 5700V of UCC21530 was effective value or peak value ,

2. if it is safe for it  when we give it a 6120V(peak value) five times per second;

the pulse like this picture

ths.

  • Hi Tong,

    1.)  The 5700V is going to be the RMS value (Peak value being 8061V).

    Here is a useful reference to see the different parameters and how they are defined:

    2.)  Although 6120Vpk would not instantly break the device, it will definitely have an effect on the device's lifespan.

    The maximum working isolation voltage of the device is rated as 1500Vrms, which characterizes the maximum continuous voltage throughout the device's operating life.

    Above is a curve on the device's datasheet that characterizes the continuous working voltage and its effect on the lifespan. So although the device will might be able to function initially, it will definitely have an effect on the lifespan.

    Hope this was helpful!

    Best regards,

    Hiroki
