Could you help confirm whether TPS61165 can be used in the following specifications, Vin is 5.5V~13.05

Hi GARETH,

TPS61165 has a minimum switch current limit 0.96A, so with 5.5V Vin, the input current has high risk to trigger this limit. You can consider the TPS923652 instead.

Why is there ovp pin? What is its function?

Hi GARETH,

The OVP pin together with resistor divider are used to set the LED open detection thresholds. When the Vout is over this threshold plus 1.2V during normal operation, LED open fault will trigger and device stops switching.

You can refer to datasheet page 16 for more details about the fault protection.
