TPS62843: line/load regulation

Part Number: TPS62843

Hi Team,

below are several questions.

1. is there line regulation accuracy on Vout?

2. is there load regulation accuracy on Vout?

3. in datasheet, there is load transient test, what's the slew rate of load change, 1A/us?

Thanks.

Given

  • Hi Given,

You can see the line and load regulation examples in figures 9-7 and 9-8.

For the load transient, the slew rate is usually around 1A/usec.

Did your customer have a specific requirement or concern?

  • Hi Chris,

customer hope to meet 0-200mA/3us, Vout drop below 50mV. from the test waveform, I think we can meet it.

load / line regulation is +/-1.5%.

BTW, could Vout accuracy @ PFM ( 10mA or 1mA) meet +/-2.5%? Thanks.

    Given

  • Yes, that is a slow step which the device should be able to meet based on figure 9-18.  When they test it, see if the 0 mA starting load is really 0.000mA or if it is 100uA or something non-0.  The light load can make a big difference in the transient response.

We don't specify the accuracy in PFM, but the PWM accuracy is 1.5% over the full temperature range.  And looking at figures 9-7 and 9-8, the additional inaccuracy at 1 mA and 10 mA loads is very small.
