LM61435-Q1: Lower Iq at sleep mode

Part Number: LM61435-Q1

Hello!

A customer wants to know if the LM61435-Q1 is able to not go above 20uA Iq at 3V3 output off of a 13.4V battery when it is always enabled, as the datasheet only gives the following:

Let me know if there are any clarifications I need to make.

 Thank you so much!

 Nikola

  • Hi Nikola,

The non-switching quiescent current is used to spec the current draw in-between switching bursts. With always being enabled and in regulation, you would need to calculate your input current using:

Do you know your load draw during the sleep mode?

    Best regards,

    Ridge

  • Hi Rigde and thank you for your response!
I think I was confused by the customers ask so here is a clarification:

When Harman's module is in sleep mode the regulator is still on. the output of the buck is ~20mA which is drawn by the IOC, so ~5uA off battery is going to the load.
We need to understand what the Iq is of the Buck with current not going to the load.

Let me know if I need to reclarify!

     Thank you,
    Nikola

  • Hi Nikola,

The Iqvin with Vout regulated to 3.3V and no load is approximately 7uA. See Section 7.7 of the device datasheet.
