TPS62869: Target I2C address setting threshold

Hi team,

When setting the target I2C address, I understand that the device is reading a voltage into an ADC to determine what the address should be set to.

If we are looking at the effective resistance threshold, is it half way between the resistance values or is there some hysteresis?

For example, with the values of 10k and 12.1k, is the threshold here 11.05? The concern is that a 1% resistor here wouldn't be enough if there is some hysteresis.

    They should use 1% resistors of the values in the table.  If they do this, it will work fine.

    I don't' understand the question on hysteresis.  The device only reads the resistor once, at startup.

    Based on where the voltage on the pin is, it determines which row to use in the table.  There is an allowable window around the voltage for each resistor value that will be read properly.  Outside of this (which is above the 1% resistance tolerance), it might not be read properly--this is a grey area between the rows.  But I wouldn't call that a hysteresis.

    Thanks for the quick response. I think the customer concern was if they were close to the grey area between rows, what would happen.

    I will just tell them they can use more accurate resistors if they are really concerned about it, but that 1% will work fine.
