Dear TI,

I hope that you are doing well. I have a query that I have set the VCHG to 8.4V but when I try to set the VSYS to 8.4V it changes automatically to 8.5V or when I set VSYS to 8.3V it changes to 8.25V. Is there any logic or specific reason for that?

    Hi Ahmed,

    MINSYS is supposed to be set the lowest system voltage required by the system and is expected to be lower than the battery regulation voltage. The system voltage then follows the battery voltage up as the battery chargers above MINSYS voltage.  When set higher, the charger operates in the linear mode all the time, which is inefficient and usually causes the charger to run at lower charge current due to thermal regulation.  SYSMIN also doesn't have the resolution of BATREG.
