TPS2662: TPS26620DRCR reverse input polarity protection test failed

Part Number: TPS2662

Dear  TI team:

A problem was encountered when testing the input polarity protection function about the Efuse IC TPS26620DRCR

1. Input negative power supply 25V, but power supply display voltage 3.12V, current 1.799A(The limiting current is set to 1.8A), Normally it should be displayed as 25V, 0A,

Could you please help confirm what the problem is?

2. Below is the schematic, please help to check if there is any problem

  • Hi Huang,

    Welcome to E2E!

RTN should not be connected to GND

    Best Regards,

    Rakesh

  • Hi E2E team:

Thanks for your replay,I modified the schematic as below,Please help to confirm again if there is any problem?

About the layout,I have a question, please help to answer it,the PowerPAD connected to the RTN plane, and then

connected to the  main system ground by the internal reverse polarity protection circuit,So, when designing the layout,

it is a separate area under the IC. is it right?

  • Hi Huang,

    Updated schematic looks fine.

Your understanding on the layout is correct. Separate area for the thermal Pad under the IC

    Best Regards,

    Rakesh
