LM3526: Current limit per Port

Part Number: LM3526

Hello

I'm planning to use LM3526 as a power switch for 2 USB2.0 Host ports with each having a current limit of 500mA.

As datasheet specifies 1A as current limit, my query was like - will the flag A gets asserted if current at port A reaches 500mA when port B is unused, and vice-versa as well, will flag B get asserted when current at port B is 500mA and port A is unused?

Basically, does this switch provides over-current protection based on current at individual port and not sum of both ports.

Thanks

Manoj

  • Hi Manoj,

    Glad to hear you!

These two switches are individual, and they have a individual current limit function.

And also, their fault flags are individual, and will be asserted in below condition, so if it will not asserted if one port go to 500mA, only go to the current limit will be asserted. Thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno
