LM5022: LM5022 flyback design

Hi experts,

I am trying to use LM5022 for flyback design, with 9-60Vin, 12Vout/2A. Is there any design tool available for LM5022 flyback design?

And, is there a generic tool/guidance to calculate the power loss (MOSFETs, diode, transformer, etc) and estimate the efficiency?

Thanks for reaching out. I can already recommend you the Flyback Calculator as well as Power Stage Designer to get a general insight into the design process necessary for a Flyback converter. They are useful tools to gain insight into the design of the control loop (PSR, SSR) as well as other things.

Hi Bryan,

Thanks. For LM5022 flyback, can it support no-load (0A) operation?

My design needs 9-60Vin, 12Vout/2A and will operates at CCM at low Vin/heavy load, and DCM at high Vin/light load.

Just to confirm if no-load is ok for LM5022 flyback.

Hi Neo,

In principle, our components support no-load, possible with like you said DCM or skip mode.
Furthermore, I'd like to recommend you to take a look at the LM5156 , it's a newer device that might also prove a good choice for you application.
