REF2041: back-driving output pin momentarily

We are using REF2041 to supply an external reference to AD5686R-EP. During power up, AD5686R-EP will get powered up first (i.e. before REF2041 is up) and its Vref pin will default output a 2.5V, meaning REF2041 Vref pin will see this 2.5V. Will this contention stress or damage the REF2041?

Hello,

Prior to powering up REF2041, will the VIN and/or EN pin of REF2041 be floating or pulled low?

The same Vdd=5V will apply to AD5686R and REF2041 (Vin and EN). We are worried that the AD5686R Vref pin will output 2.5V before REF2041 outputs a 4.096V. During this time, REF2041 Vref output will be sinking current.

Hi Kyson,

The REF2041 is capable of sinking up to 20mA of current. As long as you stay within that value, this should be no issue.
