LM3648: LED Flash driver

Part Number: LM3648
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS922052, TPS923652, TPS92360, TPS92390

Hello,

I came across a flash LED driver LM3648, which has the functionality needed for our application.

However, the LED's which we are using require high output voltage. could anyone suggest a LED driver with could cater to following requirements.

1) to be used in strobing LED's( must have an independent enable/strobe signal input)

2) output response time in microseconds.

3)Output voltage= 24V( higher the better)

4) Output current= 1A-1.5A atleast

5) output current adjustability( could be programmable)

6) Multiple channel ( desirable)

I would be happy to discuss the possibilities if there is a good candidate out there for our application.

Thank you,

Ketan

  • Hi Ketan,

For your requirement, I'm not sure about the Vin range and how many channels you want, please provide more details about your application.

For the 1 channel device, I'd like to recommend you TPS922052/3 (buck), if the input is lower than 24V, TPS923652/3 (Boost) is a good choice for you.

Both these devices can adjust the analog output current by input PWM signal to the ADIM pin and can be controlled by the EN/PWM pin.

TPS92360(Boost) is also a good choice with very simple 1-wire EN/PWM control.

For the multi-channel device, because I'm not sure about the exact channels number, please take TPS92390 as reference, this device has 4 channels, each channel can generate up to 200mA current and can be programmed by I2C interface.

    Thanks!
