i am using bq25620 battery charger ic but after giving more than 10v input voltage not its not charging anymore and i am able to read i2c communication through MSP430 on BQ studio and BQ studio acknowledge the charging ic but charging part now not working. so how do i test it out weather the charging ic is damaged or not?

Hi,

1. Please shut down the charger completely (i.e. remove both VBUS and VBAT power sources).

2. After 1 minute, apply VBAT=3.8V, then apply VBUS=5V/3A.

If the device still can't charge or operate normally, please replace the IC and try again.

Thanks for the reply,
but can you tell me even if the ic is damaged will it be able to communicated through i2c?

Hello,

It will depend on the type of damage, but in general it is typical for the I2C communication to still function even when the IC is damaged.
