AM62-EVSE-DEV-PLATFORM: Use AM62-EVSE-DEV-PLATFORM for custom EVSE

hey guys,

I'm currently designing an EV charging station. I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to do the following :

-> PLC communication between the EVSE and the electrical vehicule to get all the information of the battery ( battery charge infos, temperature etc..)

-> Communicate all the information to my charging station so it knows which current and voltage to apply to the EV.

Would the AM62-EVSE-DEV-PLATFORM be a good solution for this ? Would this kit include the harness to connect the developpment board to the electrical vehicule for the PLC communication?

Hi Amine,

Yes, the dev platform does include the devices and circuitry to be able to communicate with an electric vehicle. I would encourage you to read through the Application Brief and look through the accompanying links: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/sprac66/sprac66.pdf The kit does not include the cabling to connect to a EV charging port.

The dev hardware is provided by phytec, and the software uses the Everest stack.

Thank you for your information. If I want for example to remove the LCD screen and control the whole system with my own microcontroller, will it be possible to send commands directly to the AM62-EVSE-EVAL plateform ?

The system is designed to be used with the TI AM62 Processor, but does contain some modular components. I would encourage you to get in touch with Phytec for more information related to the hardware.
