TPS552872EVM: Current consumption at FPWM mode

Part Number: TPS552872EVM

Hi,

There is 60mA current consumption at FPWM mode with no load in TPS552872EVM.

Is it normal operation?

PFM mode seems to be good but FPWM mode makes this issue.

Thanks.

  • Hi David,

It is normal behavior that the efficiency is low at FPWM because of the constant switching frequency at all loads. And with higher the switching frequency(2MHz), the more input current will consume at no load. Recommend to choose PFM if the customer cares about the efficiency at light load.
