UCC28881: Can this chip support 5V/0.5A output?

Hi team,

My customer would like to develop AC converter so do we have suggest solution.

specification:

Vin=85Vac~256Vac

Vout=5V/0.5A

non-isolation topology.

I saw UCC28881 is suitable but it seems there is output current limitation.

Please advise .

Hi Paul.

Thank you for the query on UCC28881.

500mA is going to be difficult in this configuration using UCC28881. I would suggest going with a discrete FET using UCC28700/UCC28710 for this current levels.

Hi Harish,

Thanks for feedback. Due to customer is asking non-isolation topology, so based on our EVM board circuit, can they directly tie premary side and second side ground together? see below figuration?

Hi Paul,

Yes, it can be tied together to work in non isolated configuration.
