LM5158: WEBENCH design cannot be created

Hello team,

I want to design LM5158 with 12Vin -> 54Vout with 1A of Iout.

However, the design couldnt be created in webench.

I believe it fullfills VIN and VOUT requirement of this device.

Is this because of thermal capability? If there is more suitable device, please let me know.

    Hi Kei,

    thank you for using the E2E forum.

    Even with a very big inductor the peak current in device will by greater then 54V/12V * 1 A = 4.5 A -> this is outside the specification of the LM5158.
    For this power stage you might need to go for an controller with an external FET, e.g. LM5155 or LM5156.
