Hi team,

My customer have questions about 9.2.1 15V Output Boost Converter in datasheet.

1. How much RV required for C3.

2. Is it possible to add snubber circuit even diode integrated.

3. In 7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions, it is recommended to use 1 to 10uF for Co. However in 9.2.1 output capacitance is 100uF. Why?

4. In case not to use Vo pin, C2-RV equal to the output voltage. Is it correct?

Hi Youhei,

1. the rated volage is at least 6.3V.

2. it is possible to add snubber with the down mos.

3. 7.3 mentions in the remark that these values are recommended values that have been successfully tested in several applications. Other values may be acceptable in other applications but should be fully tested by the user.

4. C2-RV should be a little larger than output voltage, usually we choose 1.5 times of output voltage to ensure enough capacitance.

Please be noted that a ceramic capacitor’s derating under dc bias.

Thanks. Let me clarify two points.

For #2, could you teach me how to use MOSFET.

For #4, C2 0.1uF needed even not to use Vo?

The C2 is always needed even Vo pin is not used.

Hi Youhei,

the MOS is inside of the device and need not to be placed.

If you are referring the snubber circuit, it needs to get as close as possible to the SW pin.
