BQ79612-Q1: BQ79612-Q1

Part Number: BQ79612-Q1

Hello,

I am trying to build batary managment system for 24s battery pack. I use 2 pieces of BQ79612 for this. The data sheet shows the maximum input voltage for the battery pin as 100 and it says that I should feed this pin from the output at the top of the cells. However, since I will be using 2 ICs and the voltage of the top battery will be greater than 100, how should I power it?

it will be like The bat pin of the first integrated and the avss pin of the second pin are from the end of the 12th cell, and the bat pin of the second integrated is from the end of the 24th cell?

  • Hi Mustafa,

The maximum BAT voltage is relative to VSS. If VSS of IC2 is connected to the positive end of the 12th cell and IC2's BAT is connected to the positive end of the 24th cell, its BAT voltage will be the voltage across those 12 cells. If these ICs are on the same PCB, both ICs should have separate GND planes. If the ICs share GND planes, then cell 0 (IC1's cell 0) would short to cell 12 (IC2's cell 0).

    Regards,
