UCC27201A: max frequency of UCC27201A

Part Number: UCC27201A

Hi team,

My customer is using our UCC27201A and they set the frequency for MOS is 300-500kHz.

Could you please kindly help check the max frequency of UCC27201A?

And will high frequency lead to high temp rise? Have we done the temp test for high frequency application?

Thanks,

Brian

  • Hey Brian,

Thank you for your question regarding the UCC27201A.

This device can operate at frequencies greater than 1 MHz. The main limitation on switching frequency is thermal. With higher switching frequency, there is more heat due to losses. As you increase frequency, you increase the power that needs to be dissipated by the driver. The Absolute Maximum Ratings section in the datasheet specify the power dissipation capabilities of each package type for this product. Once you determine the power dissipation required for your setup, you can evaluate the product thermally with the thermal characteristics in Section 6.4 of the datasheet.
