In this e2e, I have seen your explanation/methods for using PMBus commands to read the fault logs of UCD9090. It is very helpful!

What's more, I want to ask a further question.

How to clear the fault log using PMBus commands? Once I have read all the logs. The fault log will not be reset/clear. Until the UCD9090 is repowered.

If we have any mechanism to clear the fault log. It will be very helpful!

Hi Yihe,

Is there any mechanism or method to artificially inject faults into UCD9090?

My customer want to verify this function, however they cannot trigger a fault in advance.

Hi,

you can change the fault thresholds to trigger a fault once the rails are regulated.

Hi Yihe,

I asked my customer to change the fault thresholds to trigger the fault by changing the registers following:

And they have done the following operations, setting the address 0x47 0x40,42,43,44,46,4a and 4b to 0x0001.

And they found that no fault/warning occured.

Is there any other operations that they need to do?

First you have to ensure that all rails are regulated normally.

second, these commands are paged-based, customer has to issue page command to select right rail before changing the threshold.

1. What do you mean that all rails are regulated normally? The supervised power rails you mean?

2. How to issue page command to select the rail? Could you please help provide an command example? Thanks a lot!

1. all rails are turned on from UCD side and the voltage is at their normal value
