LP3853: About the SD of LP3853ESX-2.5

Part Number: LP3853
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP3856,

Hello,

The current product uses TPS75825KTT, but since it is difficult to obtain, I'm thinking of replacing it with LP3853ESX-2.5.

I am using EN of TPS75825KTT, but 5pin is not connected.

5pin of LP3853ESX-2.5 is an error output. Is it possible to use this pin without connecting it?

thank you.

  • Hello,

In the data sheet on page 14 it states that if the sense option pin is not required, the sense pin must be connected to the VOUT pin. There is also a diagram that would help to look at. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thank you,

    Josh Nachassi

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

I think SENSE PIN is the case of LP3856, but the one I'm considering this time is LP3853.

LP3853ESX-2.5 is an Error output pin.

However, in the data sheet, there was a description that could be used by pull -up or pull -down for some reason, and I wanted to know if it would be a problem in the open.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

It specifically states that this pin must be connected to GND if not being used so I would not advise to leave it open. I would connect it to GND. You can find this at the bottom of page 13 under error flag operation.

Hope this helps answer your question.

    Thank you,

    Josh
