My customer is considering LM2940-5.0 MDE and have some questions. Can you please help them to understand?
1. Do we have reference bonding layout?
We found snao161.pdf and just can refer to the pin assignment.
2. Do we have reference circuit layout? We would like to know external capacitance size and etc..

1. Yes, SNAO161 is the correct document to use. It appears to be missing from the part's web page. Thank you for bringing this to my attention - I will work on having it added to the Technical Documentation section of the part's web page.
2. There is a very basic example schematic in the Application section of the datasheet. Minimum COUT is 22uF. This description in the datasheet also has guidance on heatsinking, output capacitor ESR for stability, and other tips that may be useful.
