TPS61071-Q1: Decrease the output current. The first level OCP threshold of 1 A has been exceeded.

Part Number: TPS61071-Q1

Hi, Support Team

I simulated TPS61071-Q1 under Vin=1.8V, Vout=3.3V, Iout=200mA by Webench.
But I couldn't simularted it because switch current limited exceeded.
I think this device can operate that condition considering figure 1 in datasheet(attached document).
Could you tell me the reason that I couldn't simulate this device under that condition?

if any suggestion, Please advise me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence

  • Hi Lawrence,

The criterion of the error message is based on the calculation: IL=(Io*Vo)/(Vin*eff), which is 611mA under your condition. But max current in figure1 is based on the output current when Vout drops by 200mV, which allows the device to slightly exceed its current limit.

In real application, we advice leaving some margin for current limit spec because of the variation of this spec. Especially for an old device.

    Best Regards,

    Travis
