TPS61378-Q1: simulation

Part Number: TPS61378-Q1

Hello,

1. FAE told me when I connect VO with OUT, the device will lose the function of load disconnect at shutdown and output short protection.

I execute the simulation(connect VO with OUT).It is found that before 2ms, there would be a turning point in the waveform. Is this normal? Will there be another adverse effects?

2. I don’t quite understand the function of the PG pin and how to design the resistor value.(EVM board PG pin element is 100k ohm)

Can it be floating?

Thank you.

Best Regards

Yufang

  • Hi Yufang,

    1. for the simulation, before 2ms, the output voltage is equal to Vin due to losing load disconnect function.

It is not a turning point but the inrush voltage from input to output.

the adverse effects include large inrush current at large output capacitance, losing output short protection and so on.

    2. the function of PG is an indicator to the MCU or post system.

the pin can be float if not used.

It is just an open/drain pin, and you can choose the resistor due to the pull-up voltage and signal input demand.

    Regards
