Hallo,
Can you share the altium files of the 16 cell battery active balancing reference design in TIDA-00817 suitable for the BQ76PL536A part?

Hi Yaren,
What is your expectations for using this device? The Altium design files have been removed from the website because we are recommending new designs to use bq79616-Q1 instead. It is a newer generation 16S device with an improved feature set. Please look into the device as support for 536 is very limited.

Hello David,
Thank you for responding. I want to design a BMS that can do 16 cell active balancing. This is actually the reason why I cannot choose bq79616-Q1. bq79616-Q1 only supports passive balancing. If you have another chip that does 16s active balancing, I can continue with that as well.
Hi Yaren,
We only have ICs that directly support passive balancing. In terms of active cell balancing, we have the reference design for TIDA-00817 in literature listed below:
But this design was only made for the PL455 and has not been converted to the 536.

David
or may I change it with BQ79616-Q1 as in reference design. What dou you recomment for active balancing system. I think it would be okay if I use BQ79616-Q1 as in reference design TIDA-00817.
Sorry for texting seperately, PL455 IC is in the reference desing TIDA-00817 for active balancing 16s. May I use the PL455 like in refenrence design? Actually design looks exactly what I want If I understand right. PL455 support active balancing also for 16s. What is your opinion about ıt?
Hi Yaren,
Looking at the datasheet for the EMB1428 and the EMB1499, it looks possible to use with the BQ79616. From Figure 1, it seems there are no innate requirements from the 616/455/536 that would stop their integration with the EMB1428/EMB1499:
The EMB1499 and EMB1428 seem to need an external 12V supply though. The BQ79616 has a SPI master controller which can isolate the MCU from the BQ79616 if the BQ79616 were to send commands to the EMB1428. As these are 11 year old ICs, we cannot offer much support on these ICs, and I recommend following the link provided above and the active balancing reference design here for creating a schematic with either the 536 or 616:

Hi Yaren,
The Altium files would have to be created from the reference schematic as we are not providing the TIDA-00817 Altium files at this time.
