TPL7407LA: TPL7407LA burning issue

Part Number: TPL7407LA

HI,

The schematic diagram of TPL7407LA is as follows, with the FIM_ Val_ 1/2/3/4 input high and low levels, high level is 3.3V, output control solenoid valve, current is around 100mA, during the switching process, the device will burn out. The software controls four switches simultaneously, and the probability of burning out will increase. Removing the RP12 resistor will reduce the probability of burning out. Please help analyze the reason or provide good suggestions.

Thanks!

  • Hi Jeno,

Perhaps, what could be happening is that the RP12 resistors are making the INx pins unstable as there are already pull-down and gate damping/OVP resistors internal to the device, in which case the TPL7407LA would be switching on and off rapidly, generating more heat than usual. A waveform of one channel with INx (after the RP12 resistor), OUTx, and solenoid current would help prove/disprove this theory. Please let me know your thoughts on this.

    Thanks,

    Patrick
