TPS62560: Peak output current

Hi team,

My customer want to know current limit in datasheet.

1. 7.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings shows Peak output current is internally limited.

Is this limit fixed value? If so, please teach me.

Or is this limit value the same as the ILIMF of the power switch between 0.8 and 1.2A?

2. Here is their TPS62560 output (3.3V) waveform.

On red circle, it seems that there are 3 times current limit. I think this behavior is due to charge of output capacitance, so this waveform is no problem. Is my understanding correct?

You can consider ILIMF as the current limit, but please make sure it is the forward current limit, high and low side MOSFET, It means is the inductor peak current limit.

Yes. it is clear that the device is hitting current limit and there should not be any problem.

TPS62560 is a old device, I would recommend to look into our new devices with lower Iq and higher efficiency and less amount of passives required. Below are some recommendations.
