BQ79612-Q1: BQ79612 can not wake from Sleep

Part Number: BQ79612-Q1

Hello,

we want to wake the BQ79612 from sleep.

The problem is that the LDOIN voltage is at 4.4V not at the required 6V.
We designed our power supply for the LDOIN as described in the datasheet for the BQ79612.

On first power up the chip pulls DVDD to 2V for 1ms, during this time the fault pin is low.

  • Hello Tobias,

You have most likely damaged the device as your schematic is not correct. You can see from the datasheet that the Absolute Maximum voltage on the VC0 and CB0 pins is 5.5V where as you are applying 12V.

Please refer to our Application and Implementation section for correct connection and configuration of the device.

It might be better that you start your evaluation with an EVM (Evaluation Module). You can get one here: https://www.ti.com/tool/BQ75614EVM-021

    Regards,

    Viktor.

  • Hello Viktor,

thank you for your quick response.

It was not clear to us how to connect the unused VC and CB pins. We understood from the datasheet that they should be pulled to BAT.

Can we leave unused pins floating or should we pull them to a voltage?

    Regards

    Tobias
