Hello,

I have question about error detection in GAS Gauge Evaluation Software bq20z90-V1.50 texas program. While testing battery pack i got the: SMB Bad PEC: V8_BAD_PEC. 

what does this message mean and what does it change in BMS communication with the package?

    Hello Marcin,

    A bad PEC byte indicates the checksum used during communication with each packet did not match what the host was expecting based on the data received. It looks like most of the communication didn't succeed, I would use a logic analyzer and/or scope to make sure what is being sent is correct.

    You can read more about the PEC byte function in the SMBus specification V1.1.
