TPS23754: Vc Capacitor selection

Hi Team

Customer use TPS23754 to build the flyback PoE, the temperature of electrolytic capacitor connected between GND and Vc reaches 81.5 Celsius, which will greatly effect the capacitor life, can ceramic capacitors used in this place instead?

    Hi Joe,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Electrolytic capacitor is recommended for TPS23754 application to ensure a stable & sufficient dc/dc startup delay time.

    It sounds abnormal that the VC cap temperature goes to 81.5C. 

    Could you share the schematic, and datasheet of the VC cap? Also please check the voltage at VC during operation to ensure it has no over voltage events.
