If an external oscillator is used to drive the SYNC pin, is 230kHz too low for the sw freq? (the min. spec for sw freq is 300kHz but that may be due to the restricted range of 'Rt' values the part can work with when using the internal oscillator).

Hello,
The TPSM846C24 device can synchronize to an external clock that is ±20% of the free-running frequency set by RRT. Sync frequency range is 300KHz to 1MHz.
Thanks
Tahar
Leaving aside that question for now, another question is what are the SYNC input characteristics? Details are not given for input impedance or capacitance, only the hi/low thresholds. Can we drive the SYNC pin with a Xtal oscillator rated for a 1mA 10pF load?
Hello,
Tahar is out for today. He will respond to this by tomorrow.
Thanks!
Calan
Hello Marcello,
Can you send the datasheet of the Xtal Osc you are planning to use so I can confirm?
is you first question addressed?
Thanks
Tahar
Thankyou; I forgot to mention we have two TPSM846C24MOLR in parallel so this oscillator will have drive two SYNC inputs. Is that still OK?
