Thank you for using E2E forums, regaridng your query Bypass operation is a feature where in DC converters, in this case Boost, when Vin is higher than Vout(at least by margin of the high side MOSFET diode drop off, the high side MOSFET is constantly on making sure that the VIN is equal to VOUT, without the diode forward voltage drop. Normally LM5152 device has this feature, but LM51521 does not, meaning when VIN is above or equal to Vout + VFD(diode voltage drop) the high side FET is turned off and is used as a diode and the Vout would be Vin - VFD.
