  • Hi, I'm trying to use the BQ76972 balancer for my battery. I'd like to test it before I make a pcb design, but the closest dev board i could find in that series was BQ76952EVM. This chip doesn't do any balancing, only monitoring. 
  • Is there a BQ76972EVM coming out anytime soon? Or any other workaround this issue?

    Hello Josh,

    The BQ76972 is the higher-accuracy version of the BQ76952, so both actually have balancing functionality and are pin-to-pin compatible. You can use all of the BQ76952 resources to evaluate the BQ76972. 

    An EVM for the BQ76972 is not being planned at the moment. If you want to evaluate the BQ76972, you can re-solder the IC on the BQ76952EVM.
