TPS53689T: Queries regarding VR14 controllers

Part Number: TPS53689T

Hello team,

I am having some doubts regarding TPS53689T VR14 controller IC.
1. What is the tolerance range of Vout voltage ?
2. Which resistor values to consider for programming board from the ADDR_CONFIG table given in datasheet of TPS53689T for setting the PMBus address?
Thanks,
Siddhi
  • Hi Siddi,

    1. This is the recommended operation conditions for VOUT.

    2. The resistor values would depend on your phase configuration of your design. Depending on what phase configuration you have for your design, you can chose the resistor values accordingly. The table for that is provided in the datasheet on page 47.

    Best Regards,

    Dhanya Prem

  • Hi

    1. I was not looking for the range of Vout.

I was looking for tolerance of particular rail.

For eg. If I want to set Vout = 1.8V, then what will be the tolerance range of Vout?

You can suggest the tolerance percent.

    2. For programming board, no phase is kept active.

All APWM pins are kept NC in programming board, CSP & CSN pins are kept gnd.

Then in this condition, what set of resistor to select?

    Thanks,

    Siddhi

  • Hi Siddhi,

    1. Attached are the tolerances for Vout depending on the Vout value.

    2. Do you want no regulation with the device? What is the use case for the 0 phases? One way to enable zero phases would be to use any setting for the pinstrap configuration and use our Fusion GUI Power Designer tool. More details on that are attached below and can be found on page 46.

    Thank you,

    Dhanya Prem
