Hi.

When we examine the datasheet of this integrated circuit, we see that it is the I2C serial communication protocol. We only want to read the cell voltages from this integrated circuit, we could not understand which addresses we can use to get these values via I2C.

Hi Tayyar,

This device is not able to read out cell voltages from the I2C bus. The serial communications are only for device configuration.

I recommend looking into the bq76942, which is a higher accuracy battery monitor with integrated cell balancing and the ability to read battery information (cell voltages, pack current, etc.) via the I2C interface.

Hi Tayyar,

I'm not sure what the usual shipping time is, but you should be able to get an estimate from the shipping provider using the order's tracking number.

Using two BQ76942s, can we increase the total number of cells to 20 cells by isolating the communications?

Yes, you can do that. I recommend looking at TIDA-010247 for reference, which implements the bq76942 in a stacked configuration with isolated communications.
