LM51561: FPWM mode in flyback configuration

Hello team,

My customer would like to design flyback converter with FPWM mode operation.

I have little knowledge about flyback, but is it possible?

I looked for TI flyback controllers, but none of them states that it can operate in FPWM mode.

    Hi Kei,

    Thanks for reaching out.
    For FPWM operation and synchronous controller would be necessary. The LM51561 could therefore not be a possible solution, since it's an asynchronous flyback converter. For your information, synchronous in this context means that the diode normally present on the secondary side of the transformer is replaced by a MOSFET driven by the controller.

    Would you have a reason why the customer wants to use this flyback in PFWM mode?
