Hi team,

Can I send SLEEP command while in ACTIVE(OUT=ON) state?

In the datasheet state diagram, it seems the device enter SLEEP state from CONFIG(OUT=OFF).

But it is also described that the device enter SLEEP mode from ACTIVE mode.

Could you please advise if I can directly send SLEEP command while in ACTIVE state and OUT automatically shut down?

Tsuji-san,

The device will turn off automatically even if the FET is on. Both channels will turn off and then the device will enter sleep mode.

Hi Tim-san,

I would like to double confirm that the device will go to Sleep directly even if both out puts was ON.

I checked EVM and got an alert to turn off output before sending SLEEP command.

Is this just a restriction of GUI/EVM?

I saw that too- but this is just more of a usability warning. I commented out the code that prevented sending the sleep mode command when the channels were on, I turned on both channels, and then sent the sleep command. Both channels turned off. I confirmed this behavior with our digital designer.

Note, that if you use the GUI to go to sleep it actually stores all of the configuration values in RAM on the microcontroller. When TPS2HCS10-Q1 wakes up, the software on the microcontroller writes the settings back to the pre-sleep state.
