Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS1HA08-Q1
Is there functional safety information available for the TPS27SA08-Q1? It is listed as Functional Safety Capable but there is no supporting documentation on the webpage.
Thanks,
Jessica

Jessica,
The Pin-FMA is going to be the same as the TPS1HA08-Q1:
I am working with our systems team to get the rest of the information for you.
Best Regards,
Tim
Jessica,
I have confirmed with our systems team that the entirety of the document that I referenced above can be used for TPS27SA08-Q1.

Tim
Thank you Tim.
Out of curiosity, can you explain the discrepancies between the FIT rates listed in the functional safety documents and those generated using TI's MTTF/FIT rate estimation tool? Take for example the TPS27SA08-Q1 (specifically looking at the part number TPS1HA08AQPWPRQ1), the calculator tool gives a result of 1.8 FIT. Compared to the functional safety document which gives a total of 20 FIT. This seems to be a consistent trend where the detailed functional safety documents have much higher numbers than the calculator tool. Why is this?
Thanks,
Jessica
Jessica,
The MTTF/FIT rate estimation tool is based on the generic package while the documents on the product pages are based specifically on the device. When dealing with the specific device, the additional functionalities/complexities will contribute to the varying FIT rates.

Tim
Hi Timothy,
That makes sense, but I would still expect the package portion of the FIT rate to be the same as the package FIT rate calculator, which in this case is 10 FIT (compared to 1.8 FIT from the calculator):
