TPS709: Thermal resistance reduction

Could you tell me how to reduce thermal resistance? I want to use TPS70960DBVR instead of discrete solution, but no advantage in cost for thermal problem.

To decrease thermal resistance with LDOs, we recommend reconsidering your PCB design as said in: LDO Thermal Performance.pdf page 4.

We recommend increasing the metal connected to the IC, which will decrease theta JA from the larger thermal mass:
