TPS62873-Q1: Adjusting output voltage

Hi,

I was thinking of using the TP62873-Q1 as a 1.8V regulator, however I won't have I2C available in my design. Since there aren't any TPS6287xY2-Q1 available yet I'd need to adjust the output voltage as in your Adjusting the Output Voltage of a Fixed Output Voltage DC-DC Converter application note.

My concern here is this would mean a 80% output increase from a VSEL value of 1.0V, which is a lot compared to the recommended 20%. Would it be possible to get 1.8V as an output with this approach or should I go with another option?

There's also a non-I2C version of this device (see table below). It seems TPS62872N2QWRXSRQ1 (Vout = 1.0V) fits your requirements. VSEL pin just need to tied to GND via 6.2kohm.

The TPS62872N2QWRXSRQ1 would indeed be the ideal choice for 1.8V output, but from what I gathered the part is still not available.

My strategy was then to follow this application note Adjusting the Output Voltage of a Fixed Output Voltage DC-DC Converter, by setting the Vout in VSEL for 1V and then forcing it to 1.8V, but I am concerned the voltage increase is too large.

Can you check if 1) the TPS62872N2QWRXSRQ1 is indeed available and if it is not 2) can I follow the application note to get a 1.8V output?

Thanks for the quick response.

TPS62872N2QWRXSRQ1 will not be released soon. I think you can consider TPS62872Y2QWRXSRQ1 (12A) or TPS62870Y2QWRXSRQ1 (6A) which have both 1.8V output. No need for external FB divider resistors.

The 12A option (TPS62872Y2) would be enough, but I also didn't find any evidence of the part being released yet. Can you please confirm it is already available?
