Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO
Hello,
Seeking for some help here!
We are making a prototype board with BQ40Z80 (4800_0_04) gauge and now, as we started a testing phase, we have faced a problem where the gauge is working normally at discharge levels of around 35A. However, once we increase the discharge current to roughly 38.2A, the voltage on the PACK pin drops significantly, and result in PDSG FET being turned on and DSG FET off. Looking at the graph, it seems that PDSG FET gets turned on for a few seconds, then off and then on again. The cycle keeps repeating, but DSG FET stays off even after PDSG FET gets disabled. I have tried to disable the PDSG FET, but then the gauge turns DSG and CHG FETs off completely for the same amount of time.
The configuration file implements current scaling factor of 7 times, thus, currents in the graph should be scaled as well. The board has been designed around this scaling factor as well.
As of now, we are lost in the situation and are hoping to find some ideas and answers here. I can share the configuration and log files privately with someone from TI team.
Regards,
Ignas
