TPS92200: How to minimize current drift in TPS92200D2EVM

Part Number: TPS92200

Hello,

We are testing the TPS92200D2EVM configured for 1.38A output (Rsense = 0.068 ohm, 1%). It's working well, but we've observed the output current slowly drift up by 1.3%. We are running the driver at a very low duty cycle: 1 second on, 2 minutes off, and measuring the LED illuminance during that time. After running the test for 800 minutes we've seen the output current rise. How can we minimize that rise? We're imaging cells so having consistent LED current is important from one hour to the next.

Thanks,

Derek

  • Hi Derek,

Do you keep all other conditions the same while testing for 800 minutes (for example, is there an input voltage drift in your system? Is there a drift in ambient temperature)? Please have a check.

Also, could you measure the IC temperature variation during the 800 minutes?

    Best Regards,

    Steven
