UCD90320: Max Junction Temperature (Tj)

According to the datasheet of the UCD90320, in "7.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings" it has an Absolute max Operating Tj of TBD-150°C, with a note stating:

"Stresses beyond those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings only, which do not imply functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those listed in the Recommended Operating Conditions table. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability."

I find it a bit confusing with a description "Operating junction temperature , Tj" which is later stated that it do not imply functional operation at this temperature?

In the "7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions"  the Max Operating Junction Temperature is -40 - 93°C. This seems like a bit low Max Tj for a power component. Should this spec be for the device and not the junction?

What is the correct specification for "Max Operating junction Temperature"  of the device? (At which maxmimum junction temperature am i guaranteed full functionality of the device.)

    UCD90320 is not a power component since it does not deliver any power

    Customer shall always follow recommended operation conditions(-40 to 93) to use the device.

    I agree, lets call it a "Power Manager Component" instead.

    My point was that i did not understand the meaning of stating an Absolute Maximum Operating Junction Temperature when the statement that follows says that the device are not guaranteed functioning on this temperature.

    I did however find an explanation to my question in the datasheet of the ADM1266 pg 25. (LINK)  which i believe also applies to the UCD90320. Due to the acceleration factor the degradation of the EEPROM increases alot with temperatures above 93°CTherefore a non-destructive operation above 93°C (max 150°C) are possible but at the cost of component lifetime (eeprom degradation), and therefore not recommended.

    I also found that the UCD9090A (a smaller alternative)  comes with higher Recommended Maximum Operating Junction Temperature.
